Understanding your NIRSport2 quote

NIRSport2 allow us to measure fNIRS in high-density set-ups, from anywhere on the head, concurrently with (nearly) any other modality. Monitor your subjects via Wi-Fi while direct-to-device system recording ensures data is always stored, or choose higher-bandwidth USB connectivity for applications in BCI and neurofeedback research paradigms that require ultra-high performance processing. 

In this post we will present the items that accompany your NIRSport2 when the basic package is purchased. The list of items for the basic package is on the image below:

The first item is the NIRSport2 88 core

The NIRSport 2 is a user-friendly, modular, and robust wireless functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) platform which measures hemodynamic responses to neuroactivation via oxy-, deoxy-, and total hemoglobin changes in the cerebral cortex.

Single System Source numbers: from 8-64 (8-source increments)

Detector numbers: from 8-64 (8-detector increments)

Channel count (topography): from 23-200+ (depends on montage / ROIs)

Source types: LED (2-wavelength)

Detector types:  SiPD or APD

Tandem-Cascading Options: Dual-Tandem (2-system), Tri-Tandem (3-system), Quad-Tandem (4-system)

The second and the third itens are the active dual-tipped LED sources and detectors. These items are used to send and receive the Infrared light that pass on the head of the subject. They stay connected to the NIRScap and can easily be moved to other positions after the experiment.



The next items are the NIRScap, the bundles and the overcaps. There are NIRScap for different sizes. The sizes wished must be specified before. The LED sources and detectors are connected to the NIRScap on the wished configuration. The overcap is used to avoid the interference of ambience light at the experiment.

The next items are the optode stabilizers (image below). They are used to connect the sources to the detectors on the NIRScap. They stabilize the distances between sources and detectors. The Grommets are used to connect the sources and detector to the NIRScap. 


 

The NIRSport Acessory kit has velcro to hold the cap, syringe, gel hold the hair out of the optodo, some elastics to hold the cap and the amplifier.

The last item is the high performance laptop. This laptop has all the configuration necessary to runs all necessary softwares to connect with the NIRSport2 during your experiment.
